About Me

My name is Tonje, and I was born and raised in a small town in Norway called Jevnaker.

I grew up playing outside with my friends all day long, but when night fell and it was time for bed, my parents would always read stories to me. Through those stories I got to travel all over the world, and experience all kinds of magical adventures together with a rich assortment of various characters from an early age.

Thanks to my parents' effort (and also the magical invention of those Disney read along cassette books) I learned to read when I was four years old, and suddenly that magical world of stories was open for me to explore on my own. I've been a heavy consumer of books ever since. Reading is definitely my happy place.

When I studied at the University of Oslo I got the opportunity to live and study abroad in Japan for 16 wonderful months - probably some of the best months of my life. Living abroad in my early twenties was so much fun, and it is still a time I look back on fondly. If you understand Norwegian, you can read all about my life and experiences in Japan here. Warning: I did exhibit some stalkerish tendencies back then. I apologize in advance for any secondhand embarrassment you might experience reading my decade old blog posts.

These days I still live in a small town in Eastern Norway, together with my two beautiful fur babies (my beautiful cats Bianca and Echo) and a rapidly growing collection of books. They say it takes 1000 books to make a library, and I still have a long way to go on that goal. One day, my friend. One day...

My reading tastes have changed over the years, but these days I mainly read fantasy (both YA and adult) and romance novels, with the occasional thriller or literary fiction book thrown into the mix. Trope wise I adore a good slow burn enemies to lover romance, and I hate instalove with a burning passion.

Disclaimer: The book reviews posted on this blog reflect my personal opinion. My ratings are based on my own personal enjoyment of the reading experience. If I dislike a book, it doesn't necessarily mean it is a horrible book, just that something about it didn't work for me.
